  2. I think this is the 4th year. It started as 2 roots begged from a neighbour. There's easily 30 or so stalks - we used to count them coming up in the spring. We have another patch under the trees on the other side of the drive out front as well. I really love it because it fills in those blank areas and provides a nice backdrop all season. In the fall we're going to split some pieces off and plant more along the fence in the back. It'll grow anywhere that hostas grow but it adds nice height. You can't grow this in your zone?

  3. You know, I don't know. I've never seen it growing here but that doesn't mean anything with gardens full of petunia and lobelia everywhere I look. I will look it up in the Fall or grab some and try it at Scotty's end of the year free for all. Still working on dahlia here. I really like it in your garden though. It does look to make a great backdrop and eventhough you stopped counting, there have to be more than 30 stalks there now. Looks like it loves the spot.
