Dahlia shoots

We pulled all the dahlia tubers out yesterday and there's good growth on all of them. woohoo!

Entryway Patch

My pale yellow iris are open now. The white and purple are just starting on the other side of the entry.

Stranger than Fiction?

This is your Mom's Iris. Except it doesn't look like your Mom's Iris. It looks like the Iris you posted that I didn't know I had. Now that I see it, I think it is the double blue that came from Judy. I will get her to look when she is out this weekend. So something is up with my maps. Going to be a winter activity to go through the old maps and figure it out though. My current map definitely shows this spot as where I planted the second Iris from you. Maybe your Mom's will bloom too and I will figure it out sooner.

The blooms are just as nice as the buds this year. There are a lot more blooms in these patches than there were last year so I think they are officially established here. Must be time to divide them.

Your Mom's Iris

I can't believe how tall they are ! My 'Deirdre' are really trying to open and the tulips look great today still. That is the Cerastium in the very back of the tulip photo. It is getting huge. No rain. Got a lot done but I am wiped out now.

Buds and a Bloom

No matter what happens with the tulips, my Iris never disappoint. They are starting today. These and the dwarf dark purple are always the first. I swear I am moving the Knautia that is to the left. No matter how lovely it blooms, the foliage is weedy looking. It needs to be further from the house. Maybe with the daisy.
