Japanese iris

The first bloomed today but this patch has lots of buds so it should be more impressive for Sunday. These are right up at chin level and bigger blooms than any of the bearded iris. The petals are very crepe-ish.

    It is a gorgeous flower. They are definitely out of my zone, bummer.
