Acapulco

My Acapulco showed up. 3 blooms and two stalks, both of a good size so I think it will be fine now.

Surprise unknown

It's a bit ragged but I'm pretty sure it's not Glenbank Twinkle so I'm stumped. Next year I'll know to plant it in the back yard.

Finally Remembered...

I took this photo of the Spiderwort blooming as soon as I noticed it this morning so I wouldn't, yet again, forget! Its so pretty and it made it eventhough Tuk tried to kill it in the spring. It was in the middle of his short cut path. I have been fighting him in the garden all season.

Radiation Biohazard

It's not a very pretty name for a daylily but it sure is a pretty daylily. The centre is a little more lime than shows here. We bought it in bud so the blooms are a little ragged this year. It's big too - like 8" across.

Jake on the brick

Had to weed all day in my rubbers. Too wet to dig so no planting in the end but a lot of weeding got done. Jake kept his feet dry by screaming at me from the brick. Miles took this one.

Waiting for the big ones

The space up by the road is filling in nicely and the heliopsis and bee balm are in full bloom. I think we're still a couple of weeks away from the big Casablanca lilies.

...and then there were three

For some reason, eventhough we have been sharing the garden peacefully for years, this is the year the dogs decided to challenge me They have been digging, stepping on, sleeping on and generally crushing every plant I have, it seems. So everything I have laying around here has been pressed into service as dog protection. I cut up all the tomatoe cages and each made 3 rings. Since I have never grown a tomatoe, I figured I was safe to use them up.

Clematis calamity

One of my Jackmanii clematis in full bloom went over in all the wind and rain we had. It's attached rather precariously to another clematis trellis beside it so I've decided to pull off the rescue mission after it's done blooming.

Monkshood Opening

This is the first year for my Monkshood to bloom. It was new last year from Judy's garden.

The mysterious orange

Can you identify it now?

Found them!

I bought another 'Madrid' this year because they are my favourite lily and I thought I had lost them but look what just showed up! Whoo Hoo, I will have 'Madrid' all over the place. If you find any... I don't need them back :)

Taco Twister Take Two

Until this gets to be a big clump, I have to be pretty happy with two blooms in one day.

Rainy Day

Off and on all day. Never long enough to keep me out of the garden when it was stopped but by the end of the day, digging was out of the question.

Dwarf Blue Flax

I may regret this and I really hope they mean it when they say it is a dwarf but.. I started planting today :)

Jurassic Spider

We bought this one last year at Harbour Breeze Daylilies but after it was done blooming - $25 based on a photo. We're not disappointed at all this year. It's gorgeous - a spider-type bloom 10" across.
