Isn't that odd. Your German Purple is way more burgundy than mine. I wonder if that is a soil trick. Yours looks closer to the colour I expect Midnight Oil to be.
That's because this one you have here is what I thought was the dwarf from looking at your past photos. This is the one I have blooming in the front. It's more dwarf-ish than the other. Let me know if I have them mixed up. Your drak blue Siberian iris has blooms here too but the damn ants have built a nest right in the base of it.
Judy's german purple are just about open and I can tell they look just like mine. I am still waiting for a Calgary purple to open so we will see what that looks like. I really, really think you have 'Midnight Oil' which is very, very, VERY, cool... I thought it was lost. You need to get that in the dry sun and grow a big patch you can divide for me and Judy - do you have any dry sun ;)
