This is that strange oddity that I posted last month. Will be interesting to see if all the buds bloom - I stopped counting at 45 and rounded it off to 50.

Smelly thing
It smells bad and it attracts flies. It's stands a little over 4' tall and the bloom (if it can be called that) from top to bottom is 21". Only Kelly would need one of these.

Strange lily
OK you have to look closely at this one. Notice the lily 'stalk' is wide and thin - like those licorice strips you pull apart - over 4" wide. And it's got TONS of buds - will probably fall over under its own weight when it blooms. Weirdly deformed! (This is lily Red Hot.)

First Frost
![]() |
| hosta 'First Frost' |
This is without a doubt my new favourite hosta - great colours and shape... and it grows fast. Hard to get a picture that doesn't have spinners from the maple trees - they've been coming down all week.

Purple carpet
The aubrieta in Kelly's garden is always the first to colour up. We've had overcast skies for a few days now - sun tomorrow will open a bunch of blooms.

Dahlia 'Preference'
It's a little ragged but I wanted you to see the colour. There's another bud that should open by the weekend so hopefully that won't be so chewed up.

Becky on a Good Day
She's almost lost among the fescue and coral bells in Kelly's garden. Hot here today! Sprinkler this evening.

And Another One...
Sunny Bamaco - this one is really soft and feminine.

Bugs are my Friends
Well, maybe not my friends but I have a much better relationship with them than before I started gardening. I found this guy hanging on a stake in Kelly's garden and he posed nicely for me to take his picture.
