Wooly Bear

There are hoards of these little guys around here this year. You can't avoid them on the grids. The parking lot at Miles' work is full of them and when the wind picks up, all you see is little furry balls rolling around. I counted 17 from the end of the boardwalk to the girls gate this morning and that was without even looking. As I came back to the house, I noticed there were at least that many making their way across the drive. The middle brown band is supposed to foretell winter. Wide band mean mild winter, narrow means severe winter. I hope that is a wives tale that is correct because this is wide :)

The Best One

I think this is the best one I got today. At any rate, I am too tired to keep looking so this is the one you get to see for now. It was all very exciting.

Egads!

Wet, cold and rainy today. This is what I found when I wandered through the Front House Garden with my camera. Every single direction I turned, there they were, on the 'Baron Katie'. I left them alone because most of these blooms are waterlogged from all the rain and almost done. I was thinking it might keep them off the more perfect blooms in that garden.

Grasshopper Problem

In the Front House Garden. I just keep going through and knocking them off which seems to be working. Along with Didi and Maggie attacking them as they fall when I do knock them off.
