Not the one we bought

This is supposed to be 'Siloam David Kirchhoff' but it's not. It's a big flower for a daylily - quite impressive - but clashes with the pink phlox beside it so one of them will move before next year.
Note July 21/12: Went to Harbour Breeze Daylilies and the guy gave us the David Kirchhoff we didn't get last year. The one above is 'Siloam Double Classic' - a more expensive daylily as it turns out..

New creamy daylily

This one is new for us this year. We raided Ally's daylilies last year, but after they'd already bloomed. Growing daylilies in the fence garden is a bit of an experiment for us this year.

Mom's columbine

It's not original from mom's garden but it's a volunteer that seeded from one of hers. This one's a lighter pink than the others... nice surprise.

Along the fence

I spent the weekend really enjoying the garden and even got some stuff done. I think the plants might actually have a head start on the bugs this year because everything is big and beautiful. (Well, except we are squishing lily beetles like crazy.)

Blue Calamint

I've been days trying to focus on these tiny flowers!  I have always thought this was a type of catmint until I just now dug out the tag.  It's calamintha nepeta and the word 'nepeta' had me thinking catmint.
Anyway it forms a mound about 2 feet around with all these tiny purple/white flowers... sort of fairy-like.

Hiding Place

I think I found out where all the slugs are hiding!

Garden Genie

When I was a kid, this is a crystal decanter that Mom and Dad used for sherry when guests came over.  I used to think it was just like the bottle on 'I Dream of Jeanie' and always begged to play with it.  Now I finally get to!

Too Busy to Pose

Ta da!  I took over 30 pictures and he just wouldn't stop moving.  (And I did not use the zoom.  Kelly was proud of me :)

Some Kind of Bleeding Heart

This white one grows the same way as the pink but the leaves are more blue and less fringe-ish.
