Yes, Exactly!

I am so glad you felt that way because that is exactly what I was hopeing it would do for both of us and I certainly felt that way. That is why I think we should continue the photo-a-day concept on the other blogs. We could post a photo-a-day each on either intwogardens or on our own blogs. So, we each post a photo-a-day on our own blogs and on the days we post a photo on intwogardens that was taken that day, we get a 'by' on our personal blog if we want to take it. It would mean we are checking two places but we are in and out of them all the time and we have been checking three. I think during gardening season, it would go a long way to keeping content going on intwogardens and our own garden journals. For the winter season, it will force me to be creative in coming up with garden themed photographs once in awhile although, it will not always be garden themed on my blog... winters are long here ;)

What do you think?

I Wasn't Counting...

Danielle, after reading your post and catching up on my photos today, I realize what I really appreciated about this blog - it forced me to find something interesting everyday through my camera lens.  A different perspective.  Even on the days I missed posting, I had taken pictures.  Sharing them with you was motivation and incentive.  Another big side benefit was getting a more in-depth look at my garden and your garden - and appreciating them more.

Buried in Winter Kill

I feel a little like this stepping stone I found under the honeysuckle and catmint today. Buried in winter kill. The whole garden looks like this but.... the sun is out.... and what a difference a day makes. All the tarda blooms are open.

Sunny Day Blooms

The tarda have probably been in bloom for days... I just couldn't see them because we have had no sun. As you can see, most of the blooms are closed but a few opened this afternoon which made me go and look. Every patch is full of blooms !

Evidence of Blooms

First evidence of actual blooms ! This is my Bergenia today. Funny that the tarda are up and very green but I am not seeing their buds yet. Looks like the weather isn't stopping these though, I counted 7 when I was out there but couldn't get them all in one photo without including more weeds than I want to think about in the frame.

Out in the Cold

taken with Samsung ST550

I can't remember a time when everything that anyone in my family was done with in their garden, didn't make it over to mine :) These two little cherubs were already a tad worse for wear when they showed up here from my Aunt and I haven't helped them this year by leaving them outside all winter to fend off the weather. I think they must have been hidden under the peonies last Fall to get left out alone.

Sharing A View

I came across Jake and Benedict sharing a view while I was taking a photo of the egret for today. This one felt more spontaneous.

Surviving the snow

Looks like we made it through. Keeping my fingers crossed that Jack Frost is on his way North for awhile.

Finally Up

taken with Canon Powershot A70

The first evidence of the tulips planted last fall. Finally. The older tulips have been up for a couple of weeks and are about 7" tall now. These are Plum Pudding and are the first of the new ones. I was starting to worry. Keeping my fingers crossed the rest will follow soon.

Coffee Anyone?

You were going to get a great picture of Tuk for today and somehow when we talked about this blog, I pictured more visually interesting photos but holy cow ! I've had this coffee maker more than 2 years and I have never done this. Until today. Today I did it three times... not sure working again is good for my brain.

They're Here!

taken with Samsung ST550

Well, this was the most exciting moment of my day. The tubers have arrived !! Calla Lily, Freesia, Gerbera, Dahlia, Dahlia, and more Dahlia. I know what I am doing for the next hour... getting a coffee and reading packing lists.

A Grey Day

taken with Samsung ST550
This one represents the whole day rather than just a moment. Having accidentally stayed up all night on Friday, I am lethargic today. It's cold. It's rainy with intermittent snow. So I am feeling like this picture... although the green is clearly there, it is not the first thing you notice.

Welcome to our Photo-A-Day Blog !

We are two friends, living a good distance apart, both interested in gardening and photography. When we met, I was gardening and Linda was always dragging a camera around. Over the years, we have shared these hobbies with each other and our interest in both has grown together. Today we both garden extensively and share our gardens with our cameras.

My garden is in rural Saskatchewan and Linda's is an urban garden in Nova Scotia so they are quite different in many ways. I expect there will be many garden photos here over the year but this blog is about the photos and topics are not limited.

What we will do here is each post a photo representing a moment from our day that we would like to share with each other. We are posting independent of each other with the goal of "just seeing what happens" and creating a bit of fun for ourselves together.

Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to follow along with us and see how it goes. If you would like to know more about us, check out the links to our personal blogs on the right.
